I was on a Zoom call with a coaching client this morning. She talked about how Zoom calls all day are exhausting. I asked her if we should switch off to talk on the phone instead. We both had a good laugh.

As it dawns on me that this is not a sprint, but a marathon, I feel we need to find a way to integrate self-care into our routines. I could certainly use it. I lost it last night with my family because I was so tired and stressed out, and my husband and daughter just didn’t want to obey my commands (imagine that!).

It’s clear that we don’t have much control in the pandemic situation (or at home for that matter). What we do have some control over is how we renew and take care of ourselves.

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” – Victor Frankl (Holocaust survivor and author Man’s Search for Meaning).

Mindfulness practice, yoga, or exercise are great ways to handle stressful emotions and renew ourselves.

So here’s the FREE OFFER. LinkedIn Learning has just made my course “Mindfulness Practices” available for free for anyone on LinkedIn. Here’s the link to the course. It has short 5-minute practices anyone can try. 142,000 people have watched this course. Please try it and share it with your teams, friends, and family. It will help you:

  • Work through hard emotions
  • Release stress that can compromise the immune system
  • Learn how to accept difficult situations
  • Have difficult conversations with grace

And perhaps even contribute to world peace :) (it starts within).

You may be asked to “Start a Free Trial”. You can do that. If you don’t want to, just click on any of the 5-minute sessions.

I will be offering “office hours” via LinkedIn Live to answer questions, so please follow me on LinkedIn, and you will get notified. Please comment on below and let me know what questions you have.

And as you may have already noticed, I will not be doing these “Daily Dose” e-mails daily. I’ve committed to moving up the publication of my next book about leading in disruption, so I’m furiously writing for that. Wish me luck!

Grateful we’re in this together,

P.S. Please share these blog series with others on your teams so together we can grow new capacities to thrive in disruption. You can sign up for the series here. And don’t forget to comment below with your questions and challenges so we can co-create for our community.
