Abbe Luersman – How To Build an Agile Organization

Abbe Luersman is the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) for Royal Ahold Delhaize, an international retailing group with strong local consumer brands in Europe and the United States – €63bn in revenue, 383,000 associates and serving over 50 million customers in-store and 20 million online weekly. Prior to joining Ahold, Abbe spent 6.5 years with Unilever where she held two distinct roles, SVP Unilever Europe and SVP HR Transformation & Strategy. She is Co-Chair and on the Board of Directors for Gartner’s CHRO Global Leadership Board. She has lived on 4 continents, run 25 marathons and loves sports, travel, and movies. Abbe is married to her husband, Paul – just celebrating their 19 year wedding anniversary…. and they have a 16-year-old daughter named Emma, who is their best little coach.

In this episode we spoke about how Ahold-Delhaize was able to respond with great agility to the pandemic, hiring 45,000 furloughed workers from other companies and ensuring the health and safety of associates and customers.
